How To Sign Accommodations in Sign Language

If you’re working with someone who is Deaf or hard-of-hearing, chances are that they need some form of accommodation. Hopefully, plans for accommodations are in motion, but if not, here’s a way to refer to them!

Directions for Signing “Accommodations” in Sign Language

  1. Handshape: Using both hands in an open “5” hand-shape, bend all fingers except the thumb
  2. Placement: Place your hands in front of you with both palms facing towards the body
  3. Movement: Bring both hands together twice so that each of the bent fingers intertwine together
