How to Sign "Sign Language" in Sign Language

Probably the most important sign to know when you're first signing! Make sure to commit this one to memory.

Signing "Sign Langauage"

  1. Hand Shape: Form both hands into a “1” handshape, with your index finger extended
  2. Sign Location: Position your hands near your chest.
  3. Movement: Move both hands in a circular motion toward your body, almost similar to the traveling gesture in sports.
  4. Facial Expression: This is typically signed with a neutral facial expression.

Fun Fact

If you sign this with an inquisitive facial expression, it can mean the entire phrase, "Do you sign?" or "Do you know sign language?”
