How to Sign "Milk" in Sign Language

A really common sign to teach babies, milk is still useful for adults! Even if you're drinking non-dairy milk, this sign can still be used.

Signing "Milk"

  1. Hand Shape: Use your dominant hand to form a fist.
  2. Sign Location: Position your fist near your chest.
  3. Movement: Open and close your fist, as if you’re squeezing the udders of a cow.
  4. Facial Expression: Wear a content and relaxed expression, as if you're enjoying the comfort of a glass of milk.

Note

This sign is not limited to cow's milk; it can represent any kind of milk, including plant-based alternatives like almond milk or soy milk.
