How to Sign "Good" in Sign Language

Whether you want to say “good morning” or “this is good!” this sign will get you started. One of the most common words used in ASL is “good.”

Signing "Good"

  1. Handshape: Form your dominant into a “closed 5” handshape
  2. Sign Location: Start with your hand placed touching the bottom of your chin.
  3. Movement: Move your hand from your chin forward and downward.
  4. Facial expression: Keep a positive facial expression, matching the positivity of the word good.
