How to Sign "Summer" in Sign Language

In American education, there’s nothing more exciting than the thought of that lonnng summer vacation. With this sign, you’ll be equipped to spark that excitement.

Signing “Summer”

  1. Hand shape: Form your dominant hand into a “1” handshape.
  2. Hand location: Place your hand across your forehead, with the palm facing down.
  3. Movement: Bend your index finger, while moving it across your forehead from the non-dominant side to the dominant side.
  4. Facial expression: Most of the time, you can maintain a neutral facial expression. But when you’re excited about summer, make sure your face matches that energy!

Note

This sign closely resembles wiping the sweat away from your brow.
