How to Sign “Dining Room” in Sign Language

The dining room is where we share meals and gather with our loved ones. Hopefully you’re talking about this room in a positive way, in which you share memories and laughs and full bellies!

Signing “Dining Room”

  1. Hand shape: First, form your dominant hand into a closed “O” handshape. Then, form both hands into a closed “5” handshape.
  2. Hand location: First, bring your dominant hand to the side of your mouth. Then, bring both hands in front of your body, palms facing each other.
  3. Movement: First, tap your dominant closed “O” against the side of your mouth. Then sign “room,” moving your hands in one switch motion from facing each other to both palms face your body.
  4. Facial expression: Keep a neutral facial expression.
