How to Sign “Hallway” in Sign Language

Whether you’re talking about an office or dorm hallway, this sign is bound to be used in conversation. You might also see some folks signing this initialized, with an “H.”

Signing “Hallway”

  1. Hand shape: Form both hands into a “closed 5” handshape.
  2. Hand location: Bring both hands in front of your body, at about chest level. Face both palms towards each other.
  3. Movement: Move both hands forward, symbolizing the hallway.
  4. Facial expression: Keep a neutral facial expression.
