How to Sign “Sprint” in Sign Language

Sprinting is not only a great way to boost your cardio and burn calories, but did you know that the fastest recorded human sprinting speed is 27.8 miles per hour? That's faster than the top speed of a lion!

Signing “Sprint”

  1. Hand shape: Start with your dominant hand in a “1” handshape. Form your non-dominant hand into a “closed 5” handshape.
  2. Hand location: Bring your hands in front of your body at about chest level. Place your non-dominant hand palm down. Place your dominant index finger up and in between your index and middle finger.
  3. Movement: Quickly move your dominant index finger outward, as if fleeing.
  4. Facial expression: Keep a neutral facial expression.
