How to Sign “Window” in Sign Language

Metaphorical or physical, here’s how to sign window. When talking about an open or closed window, you can refer to this sign and move your hands accordingly.

Signing “Window”

  1. Hand shape: Form both hands into “closed 5” handshapes.
  2. Hand location: Bring both hands in front of your body with palms facing your body. Place your dominant hand on top of the other, pinky touching the index finger.
  3. Movement: Move your dominant hand up and down twice, symbolizing the top of a window moving up and down.
  4. Facial expression: Keep a neutral facial expression.
