How To Sign Zoom Meeting in Sign Language

Like most signs, they are formed out of necessity and context. When Zoom became one of our only ways of connecting, the sign language community came to agree on how to sign “Zoom.”

Signing “Zoom Meeting” in ASL

  1. Hand position: Make the ASL sign for the letter “C” with your dominant
  2. Placement: Place your hand in front of you, starting around neck level.
  3. Movement: Move your hand in a “Z” shape with a quick, sweeping motion, as if signifying all the floating heads in boxes across the screen

Because this is novel software, this sign might differ based on region. It’s important to be open to other ways of signing!
